Nearly 1,000 individual donors, both in and outside Tennessee, Masons and non-Masons, have made donations of money, building materials and services to help fund the building of the 1998 GMWP house.

1998 GMWP Lapel Pins and T- Shirts are available as fund raising items. (To order either item, please click on here). Over 500 brethren and members of our Masonic Family purchased these items at District Meetings and other Masonic meetings. Several out of state Brethren also have purchased pins and made donations.

UNION LODGE #38 GOLF MARATHON

On Tuesday May 12, Union Lodge #38 hosted a Golf Marathon to raise sponsorship money to help fund the building of the1998 GMWP house. 16 Golfers played more than 100 holes of Golf in one day! Prior to the event, golfers sought per hole sponsorship pledges. Over 350 individuals made pledges ranging from $5.00 to $250.00.

The event was held at the South West Point Golf Course in Kingston, which is located on Highway 58, just south of town. Brother Ronnie Beard, owner of the Golf Course, donated its use for the event.

Brother Earl Duff (Earl Duff Subaru Inc.) offered a 1998 SUARU Forrester for a hole-in-one. Several golfers came close to winning the car! Chuck Henley (Henly Golf Company) donated a Fairway Wood as a prize for a closest to the hole contest which was won by Barry Burton. Dave Saudners won a gift certificate for a putter from Henly Golf Company for the longest and straightest drive.

The golfers and caddies enjoyed a great day of golf and fellowship. The District 19 meeting was held at the Roane County High School that evening. The Grand Master expressed his appreciation to all the golfers, caddies and workers and presented them with certificates of appreciation.
