Dedication Group The 2001 GMWP Campbell County HFH house was dedicated on Sunday August 19, 2001. Attending were homeowner Kathy Davis' brothers and sisters, her son, daughter and 2 grand daughters. Also present were numerous Campbell County HFH volunteers, board and committee members, Grand Historian Brother Bobby DeMott and his wife Bea, GMWP Director Brother Tom Boduch and his wife Betty, Brothers David Williamson, Melvin Giles, Herb Brinker and his wife Marge. After everyone gathered on the front lawn, Jeanne Smith, Campbell County HFH president welcomed everyone, and mentioned this house was the eight built by Campbell HFH, and the third dedication in 2 weeks! A prayer was offered by Kathy's pastor, Father Gregory Neuzil. Afterward, Kathy and her son Tommy cut the ribbon to the house (see photo at left) and everyone then went inside.

Rep. Baird Jeanne Smith then introduced State Representative William A. Baird (see photo at right), in whose congressional district the house was constructed. In 2000, the Tennessee General Assembly began THE HOUSES THE ASSEMBLY BUILT program--an effort to build a HFH house in each of Tennessee's 99 House Districts. Rep. Baird's house (representing the 36th Congressional District) is under construction next to the 2001 GMPW house and is expected to be completed in the near future. He Flag presented Kathy with an American Flag. Grand Master Esco Owens (photo at left) and Brother Tom Boduch held the flag while everyone recited the pledge of allegiance.

Representative Mark Goins (representing the 34th Congressional District--portions of Campbell and all of Clairborne Counties) then made a few remarks. The Caryville city manager then also congratulated Kathy and praised Campbell HFH and Freemasons for their work.

Kathy's brother, David Shouse, then offered a prayer of blessing for the house. Brenda Dorsett, Campbell HFH Board of Directors president then presented Kathy with a Bible provided by HFH, along with a congratulatory letter from HABITAT's founder, Millard Fuller. Karen Davis, Kathy's family support person then presented a housewarming gift from the Family Support committee.

KeyGMWP director Brother Tom Boduch then spoke about the Grand Master's Work Project and introduced Grand Master Esco Owens. The Grand Master made a few remarks and then presented Kathy with a large symbolic key to her new home (see photo at right).

Kathy and Tommy then thanked everyone for all the hard work that went into the construction of their new home. Father Neuzil then offered a closing prayer, after which, refreshments were served.
