The current State DeMolay Master Councilor, Mr. Nathan Rogers, has adopted HABITAT FOR HUMANITY as a community service project for his year. He, along with members of the Kingsport DeMolay Chapter, helped frame a 2001 GMWP house built in July 2001 in partnership with Jefferson County HFH.
Shown in the photo at right are (from left to right), Tipton HFH president Bob Whitworth, future homeowners Angela and Virginia Smith and Grand Master Joe Harrison.
The house will be a 4 bedroom, handicapped accessable home. John and Angela Smith have 3 children, Willie, Catheryn and Takeada. Angela's mother Virginia (who is wheelchair bound) will also occupy the home. All HABITAT homeowners are required to work 500 hours of "sweat equity"--work done helping build their own home and those of other HFH homeowners. The Smiths have already worked considreable hours and are ready to start building their own home.
