TENNESSEE MASONS AND CLEVELAND HFH

Cleveland HFH was selected as the site of the 2004 GMWP, becuase several local brethren and their family members have symbolically "built the foundation" for this project.

Cleveland is the home of Past Grand Master Charles Eads. M. W. Brother Eads served as Grand Master in 1995. In 1994, Past Grand Master Tom Hager initiated the VISION 2013 movement. In the subsequent year, Grand Master Eads aggressively promoted VISION 2013, and helped make it the successful program it is today. Without Brother Eads' efforts, Tennessee Masons would not be building HABITAT houses.
Eads at District Meeting M. W. Brother Eads was recognized for his contributions at the 2001 District 17 Meeting held on May 12 in Athens. Shown in the photo at left are (from left to right), Brother Eads, Grand Master Esco Owens and GMWP Director Brother Tom Boduch. Grand Master Owens presented PGM Eads with a certificate of appreciation for his efforts.

To help raise funds for house construction, Cleveland HFH operates a Re-Store. This facility takes in donated goods, repairs and re-sells them. Brother Jarvis Goober, his friend Imogene Woods and Brother Walter Brooks run this facility. Helen Brooks (wife of Brother Walter) served for many years on Cleveland HFH's Family Selection Committee.

This was 4 years to the date that ground was broken for the first GRAND MASTER'S WORK PROJECT house, and 2 years to the date that the 2000 GMWP house was dedicated.
