SPECIAL EVENTS for 2006
Annual 'Coon Supper and Outdoor Degree
Each year on the first Saturday in June we hold this special event which has helped make Somerville Lodge #73 famous! In the past, we have served BBQ pork, raccoon, bear, elk, emu, squirrel, rabbit and any other "road-kill" we could find. What will this year bring? Load up the vans, cars, and motorcycles and come see us on the first Saturday in June and find out! All Master Masons with a current dues card are welcome. The cost for this outdoor feast and degree is only $5, which we use to offset expenses.
Annual Masonic Golf Tournament
For the past several years, we have held our Annual Masonic Golf Tournament and it has been a great success! This is our annual fundraising event. All proceeds go to providing food boxes at Christmas, worthy brothers in distress throughout the year and the remainder of the funds to further the advancement of Freemasonry. We are in the process of planning this year's tournament now and more information will be released as it is available.
Annual Masonic Family Day Picnic
Each year, on the first Saturday in October we hold our annual picnic on the grounds of our Past Master, Bro. Ben Richardson, Sr. We use this event to honor our Past Masters, our Masonic Widows and to recognize ALL family members. All Master Masons and their families are invited to this pleasant event. We serve catfish and chicken fingers with all the trimmings. We have available: horseshoes, washers, badminton, checkers, and lots of other games. When the weather is cool, we have a bon-fire. And.....if he doesn't "disappear" we have a magic show! Come join us for a fun filled day!
