VISION 2013 HOME PAGE

revised 7/25/2007

Vision 2013 is a Tennessee Masonic Renewal Movement which was begun in 1994 and is so named, because the Grand Lodge of Tennessee was chartered in 1813, and will be celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2013. Looking toward this milestone emphasizes that VISION 2013 is a long term effort which will not provide instant solutions to the problems of declining membership and decreasing participation by members, but rather, must be continued on an ongoing basis to reverse these trends.

VISION 2013 has been a very successful program. In order to build on past efforts and to continue to prepare Tennessee Freemasonry for the challenges of the future, on January 27, 2007, the name of the VISION 2013 committee was officially changed to THE LONG RANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE. The committee was charged to continue VISION 2013 and in addition, to develop and implement 5, 10 and 20 year strategic plans for Freemasonry in Tennessee.

The existing VISION 2013 program will become part of the first 5 year plan. The LONG RANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE will work closely with other Grand Lodge Committees--especially the Ways and Means, Building Restoration, Education and State of the Craft Commmittees.

To evaluate the effectiveness of VISION programs, and to reward Lodges for their participation, VISION 2013 awards are presented at our annual Grand Lodge session. Awards are graduated, and made on the basis of points earned by the Lodge during the preceding year. Points are documented on a questionnaire which also helps guide the lodge in planning its VISION 2013 programs. The questionnaire is revised annually. For a current award form, please click here.
