Angela Pichon is a 14 year old girl with cerebral palsy. She lives in Lebanon TN. On April 17, 2001 she will be going to the Shriner's Crippled Chidren's Hospital in Lexington KY for orthopedic surgery. When she returns she will be in a wheel chair for some time. Her mother had called several organizations in Lebanon for assistance but didn't get any help. She called Wilson County HFH in late Feb. Cindy Todd (executive director) immediately called me to see if the Mason's could help (She does this frequently).

Carl Howard (Secretary and Past Master Lebanon Lodge #98) and I talked it over and I visited the family. We presented it to our respective Lodges at our March regular stated meetings. Both Lodges voted to co-fund the project. On March 23 Carl Howard, Don Meyer, and Wade Goolsby from Lebanon Lodge 98, Bob Stone and I from Mt Juliet Lodge 642, Joel Dillard and Charles Mason from Madison Lodge 762, and Jimmy Hale from Edgefield Lodge 254 along with Jimmy's grandson, Alan Heene built the ramp.

The photo below shown the ramp under construction. Brother Joe Dillard is at the bottom of the ramp, Brother Jimmy Hale at the top. Brother Charles Mason is at the bottom right, while Alan Heene is in the background right.

We had barely completed the ramp when Angela got home from school. The smile on her face tells the rest of the story. By walking up the ramp she has reached her front door without assistance for the first time in her life! Angela's mother, Sandra, is standing next to the house.
